CodeClub was founded in 2020, born from a need in the community, a simple idea, and hard work.

Founder/President Puiyee Kong's main inspiration for starting CodeClub was her own interest in computer science and the immense lack of introductory lessons or clubs within her community. Puiyee reached out to her local library about teaching coding classes specifically curated for students, and the first CodeClub session was hosted in October of 2020, spanning over 20 weeks in a completely virtual format.

Since then, CodeClub has truly taken off. With numerous in-person sessions spanning various topics across the spectrum of computer science and STEM, there is truly something for everyone. The program was expanded in 2022 with new student leaders added to the team, bringing a wider range of expertises to CodeClub.

The positive feedback about CodeClub has been truly motivating and encouraging, and working with young students weekly has been a beacon of light in the team's lives.
